Nah this is one of the plantation home ruins on Jeckyll Island, GA. Last month a group of us ventured around on the island and found this and many other historical places. I just love history!

In this photo the rocks are very dull. I climbed on these rocks on Jeckyll Island, GA. They put rocks on the beach to stop beach erosion

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day! I'm not a huge fan of Valentines Day because I feel like if you love someone you will take the time to show them and make them feel special more than just one day out of the year. I know it's a big deal to a lot of people though so I hope your loved one treats you right. I am spending the day with my granddaughter Sarah so that my daughter and her Hubby can enjoy their holiday. Even though today is Friday the 13th its a very special birthday for my friend Gary. This guy is a great friend and confidant. He is an excellent photographer. I have learned so much from him. We have been on a few photography adventures together. He opened my eyes to photography and has been my mentor. I went from just taking photos of my family to venturing beyond that to different subjects and perspectives. He is a friend to many people. No one is a stranger to Gary. I just wanted to write a short note of how much he means to me. I hope he has an awesome birthday!! He is my subject for my photo for today.Love ya Gary!!

How many Flamingos do you see? This photo was taken at the Jacksonville Zoo back in December. You seem to see statues of these birds in many peoples yards in Florida. Not sure why but you would think Flamingos were the state bird...lol. I just love their bright color!

This is a beautiful view from a restaraunt on the dock on Jeckyll Island, GA. I can't remember the name of it and the food wasn't all that great, I just remember the view. I am big on reflection photos and I just loved how you could see the clouds in the water.

I am ready for the Spring to get here and the weather to warm up. Every since we went to Daytona Beach, FL a few weekends ago when I took these photos, I have been missing sunny, warm days on the beach. I love the feeling of my toes in the sand and the sound of the ocean. I spent a lot of time on the beach growing up so it always feels like home to me.

I have been pondering on our trip to the mountains for Christmas. I enjoyed myself so much. I think the kiddos enjoyed themselves even more. I really didn't want the fun to end. I think it was the best Christmas ever!

This is a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from Grandfather Mountain. It was a cloudy day and quite cold outside. Just some beautiful scenery to take in. I loved our trip to the mountains! Such a family bonding time. I can't wait till we go back!

We made a trip to Daytona Beach, FL yesterday for a family reunion of sorts. I was out of town yesterday at a family reunion so I couldn't post a photo before midnight. Here is my photo for yesterday. When we went to the zoo...this ape was just sitting there in deep thought and hardly moved the whole time we stood there. Even though its his backside I still think its a cute photo of him. I'm sure he wouldn't like the fact of me calling him cute...lol

This is Fort Clinch on Amelia Island, FL. I toured the fort for the first time this weekend. So much to see and learn about. I really want to go back when I have more time and take the kiddos.
