8/23/09 Photo of The Day

I know I haven't posted in awhile, life has been very busy for me lately. Plus the fact that it has been raining almost every weekend and evening when I get home. I haven't really been out to take photos.
Today was the first beautiful day we have had in awhile. We grabbed our camera bags and took advantage. We just got hom not too long ago but I wanted to share just one photo of a beautiful ending to a beautiful day. Nothing like watching the sun go down with the person you love the most in life:) There will be more photos to come from our adventure tomorrow.

These are a few photos from our adventure around Ft Clinch on Amelia Island, FL. I love history and I am always on the search for historical places. The beautiful young lady in the photo above is my daughter Alyssa. She put on one of the hats in the kitchen :) She looked so natural lol.

Watery Wednesday #28

This is my Watery Wednesday entry for this week. I took this photo a few weekends ago when we were visiting Fernandina Beach, FL. There was a lady feeding the birds so I had a great photo opportunity :) I love catching birds with their wings spread out!

Just a little tunnel vision for you today. These were some shots I took at Fort Clinch on Fernandina Beach, FL last weekend.

2 Things Challenge - Shiny/Dull

These are my interpretations of shiny/dull...
The sun in this photo is shining off the water in the beautiful sunrise on Fernandina Beach, FL
In this photo the rocks are very dull. I climbed on these rocks on Jeckyll Island, GA. They put rocks on the beach to stop beach erosion
If you would like to play along in the weekly challenge here is the link...

This is Fort Clinch on Amelia Island, FL. I toured the fort for the first time this weekend. So much to see and learn about. I really want to go back when I have more time and take the kiddos.

Today I snuck in 2 photos! We went to Fernandina Beach on Sunday and went down to the water. We saw all these pelicans sitting on a dock so I went over to take some photos. I was fascinated by how close the pelicans were letting me get to them. I had a great time photographing them. I think they were curious about me too. I think Pelicans are such unique birds!

This is my step-daughter Mara, isn't she beautiful? We went out taking some photos yesterday in Fernandina Beach, FL. She has started doing photography with me and she seems to like it. I finally found something her and I can share!

This is another photo from the sunrise on Fernandina Beach. I am wishing I was there this morning =)

12/30/08 Photo of The Day

My friend Rita came to visit me from Texas. She stayed for a couple of days before we headed for Savannah to meet up with the group to do a photography tour. While she was here I took her to see some of my favorite places. This is one of them! My favorite place for a beautiful sunrise...Fernandina Beach, FL. She never lets me down!

12/4/08 Photo of the Day

This is a photo I took earlier this year in downtown Fernandina Beach, FL. I loved the history hidden behind the fresh paint on the buildings. This was taken down a side alley. Makes you wonder how many businesses have existed in these buildings over the years?
